A newly-formed East Yorkshire building refurbishment specialist has forged a long-term relationship with MKM Building Supplies, after naming the company preferred supplier on its first major contract.
Mitchell James Contractors Limited (MJC) was launched earlier this year in response to demand for regeneration in the region and work has just begun on its first major contract – the £500,000 transformation of a run-down, Grade II listed building into state-of-the art office and residential accommodation.
Managing director Jamie Dempster is delighted to announce MKM Building Supplies as the main supplier of materials for this contract and has struck up a long term partnership with the leading firm for other forthcoming projects.
Mr Dempster has a national reputation for project managing multi-million pound construction projects and is currently renovating a 5,000 square foot building, based in Eastgate, under the shadow of Beverley Minster, for TAS Communications, an award-winning marketing and PR company. He said: “An important element of setting up the business was to ensure our preferred supplier of building materials is a company which is used to dealing with high value contracts and recognises that quality material at the right price, and delivered when it’s needed, is essential for us to remain competitive in the market.
“MKM has been incredibly helpful and ensured we have the best possible materials for this specific refurbishment project, including sourcing some specialist applications required to meet the new building regulations required in a refurbishment of this nature. We will be working with them on other major forthcoming projects to ensure we give the same attention to detail to every contract we undertake. “I’m delighted to be working closely with a company which clearly has an excellent national reputation.” MKM – which will be supplying MJC with everything from timber, bricks, blocks and sheet materials to dry lining materials and aggregates – is a nationally-acclaimed builders’ merchants company, which was founded in 1995. Mike Thomas, Director at MKM Hull Ltd, is pleased to be working closely with MJC to meet all of its building supplies needs.
He said: “By providing a proactive and innovative team approach from the outset we are confident both companies; by working together to build a strong relationship will achieve the success they deserve going forward. “Here at MKM we can provide an holistic approach to both service and delivery culminating in what can only be described as a total one stop shop – to this end we wish Mitchell James Construction Limited the very best for the future.”
